Stay serene with these three online saviours. Simplifying has never been more, er… simple.
This is a magical website, which I use once every couple of months. Type in your email address and unroll.me will tell you every mailing list that you’re subscribed too. And then, right there on the website, you can press a little x next to each one and unsubscribe from all of them! After five unsubscribed, you’ll be prompted to share the site with family and friends in order to unlock more unsubscribes. But share to FaceBook and select ‘only me’ on the privacy options and it won’t even be public! For a few days after each time I use the site I feel majorly unpopular because there isn’t a tonne of junk in my inbox every morning. And then I just feel the freedom of not having to press delete 15 times every morning! You need all the head space you can get when you’re wedding planning and this site helps so much in obtaining just that!
If you’re anything like me you love a list. I’d go so far as to say that I’m a prolific list maker, idea write-r down-er, and general lover of downloading information from my brain so I don’t feel like I’m clogging up my brain! My devices used to be full of lists, but they were always so spread out. Weekly meal plans on my laptop when I could really have done with them on my phone, blog post ideas on my iPad when they should have been on my iMac for writing up. Chaos. Evernote changes all of that and it is great. I’ve downloaded the Evernote app on to all of my devices and I can write notes on any that then sync to all of my others! So if a thought pops into my head while I’m on the go, I can write it into Evernote on my phone, and it will be there on my desktop when I come to write it up. You can even organise all of your notes into different notebooks so everything is easy to find and organised. So you can have ‘dress’, ‘cake’, and ‘guest list’ notes all in one ‘wedding planning’ notebook and it won’t get confused with other parts of your life that need organising, too. You can also share notes for other people to see. Basically, it’s a life saver. And it’s free! Not sure how I could be more enthusiastic about it really…
3. Share a google calendar
When you’re both working, have family and friends to see, need to carve out time to actually spend together AND have a wedding to plan, scheduling can become a complete nightmare. Nate and I have a shared google calendar and it is so unbelievably helpful. We can both see each other’s commitments, block out time to be together and know where we’re both meant to be at the right time. Even though we’re not planning a wedding anymore, this is something that helps us out daily.
Bonus tip – Yoga With Adriene
Not quite a tool so don’t feel like it can go in the list of three but this lady helps me to feel chilled every single day. I was so sceptical of all things yoga – mainly put off by the ohm chanting and sun salutations – so I pushed away the idea of trying it out for a long time. Then I found Adriene and her 30 minute yoga video YouTube channel. Let me tell you – this is a game changer. I would say that this is less yoga and more just really fancy stretching – but boy does it feel amazing and make my body feel healthy and my mind feel chilled. So worth taking the time out.
