Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all.

The nightly scroll through Style Me Pretty and the Instagram feed full of Hawaiian beach ceremonies are just the tip of the ice berg – I’ve got weddings on the brain. I love weddings. I love weddings but I’m always trying to avoid the temptation to immerse myself only in that world and to not seek inspiration from anywhere else. A temptation because somewhere along the line, you run risk of just copying what everyone else is doing and not creating anything new or anything that actually expresses who you are. We squash our creativity every time we see the same style of wedding photographs over and over again. We end up recreating, not creating at all and that is sad.

So here’s a little monthly something. One photograph, one quote. No loud ‘look at this gorgeous wedding’ shouts, but rather quiet whispers which say that love can be found in places other than the weddings we idealise on dreamy wedding blogs. Here’s my commitment to staying inspired and to staying in love with this beautiful, crazy world.

Luke and Liz have lived in an amazing number of countries, and their wedding was such a celebration of culture and heritage. They decided on a Spanish themed wedding day, as a nod to Liz’s grandma’s Spanish side of the family. The sangria flowed, the tapas was delicious, and they celebrated with a first piñata rather than a first dance! I love the way that they covered their venue, Wood Lane Countryside Centre, with beautiful wedding papel picado bunting. The whole day was gorgeous, from start to finish! Happy one year anniversary for next week, Luke and Liz!

The two were married at Islington Town Hall, with their closest family and friends… lots of whom had travelled right across the globe to be there with them. We then celebrated the nuptials in true Shoreditch style at an aquatic showroom. Why get married in a traditional wedding venue when you can be surrounded by tropical fish, right?

Remember Ellie and Tim from their coffee shop engagement shoot? Well now they’re married for real! This wedding was so cool!

Check out the amazing florals by Bloom Fleuriste, the gorgeous bride and her beautiful wedding dress, the very cool vintage wedding bus that transported the guests from the ceremony to the reception venue (the amazing Birmingham Botanical Gardens), and the way that these two just didn’t stop smiling the whole day long.

Ellie and Tim, thank you so much for letting me be part of your wedding day. Congratulations again!

Stay serene with these three online saviours. Simplifying has never been more, er… simple.

1. Unroll.me

This is a magical website, which I use once every couple of months. Type in your email address and unroll.me will tell you every mailing list that you’re subscribed too. And then, right there on the website, you can press a little x next to each one and unsubscribe from all of them! After five unsubscribed, you’ll be prompted to share the site with family and friends in order to unlock more unsubscribes. But share to FaceBook and select ‘only me’ on the privacy options and it won’t even be public! For a few days after each time I use the site I feel majorly unpopular because there isn’t a tonne of junk in my inbox every morning. And then I just feel the freedom of not having to press delete 15 times every morning! You need all the head space you can get when you’re wedding planning and this site helps so much in obtaining just that!

2. Evernote

If you’re anything like me you love a list. I’d go so far as to say that I’m a prolific list maker, idea write-r down-er, and general lover of downloading information from my brain so I don’t feel like I’m clogging up my brain! My devices used to be full of lists, but they were always so spread out. Weekly meal plans on my laptop when I could really have done with them on my phone, blog post ideas on my iPad when they should have been on my iMac for writing up. Chaos. Evernote changes all of that and it is great. I’ve downloaded the Evernote app on to all of my devices and I can write notes on any that then sync to all of my others! So if a thought pops into my head while I’m on the go, I can write it into Evernote on my phone, and it will be there on my desktop when I come to write it up. You can even organise all of your notes into different notebooks so everything is easy to find and organised. So you can have ‘dress’, ‘cake’, and ‘guest list’ notes all in one ‘wedding planning’ notebook and it won’t get confused with other parts of your life that need organising, too. You can also share notes for other people to see. Basically, it’s a life saver. And it’s free! Not sure how I could be more enthusiastic about it really…

3. Share a google calendar

When you’re both working, have family and friends to see, need to carve out time to actually spend together AND have a wedding to plan, scheduling can become a complete nightmare. Nate and I have a shared google calendar and it is so unbelievably helpful. We can both see each other’s commitments, block out time to be together and know where we’re both meant to be at the right time. Even though we’re not planning a wedding anymore, this is something that helps us out daily.

Bonus tip – Yoga With Adriene
Not quite a tool so don’t feel like it can go in the list of three but this lady helps me to feel chilled every single day. I was so sceptical of all things yoga – mainly put off by the ohm chanting and sun salutations – so I pushed away the idea of trying it out for a long time. Then I found Adriene and her 30 minute yoga video YouTube channel. Let me tell you – this is a game changer. I would say that this is less yoga and more just really fancy stretching – but boy does it feel amazing and make my body feel healthy and my mind feel chilled. So worth taking the time out.

So there are my three free online tools (and a bonus tip!) to keep you stress free whilst wedding planning. Did I miss anything? Which apps and sites are making your life easier? Let me know in the comments! Why not share this with any brides-to-be in your life? And for a more in depth guide to staying peaceful in the run up to your wedding, look out for my upcoming ebook ‘The Blissful Bride Guide’!
